The Sony BDV-E780 certainly has – we have noticed an immediate improvement in the quality of the audio signal from our old Samsung system when you insert the first CD system. We were overwhelmed by the experience gained, as we saw our first Blu Ray. The quality of picture and sound have been filmed. Truly a great purchase.

The Sony BVDE300 home theater system is a great value. It has all the features (Blu-Ray, DVD, CD, radio, etc.) and sound amazing with its 5.1 speaker system at home under a beautiful high-definition entertainment. The device is simple and fast. To use system is simple. The sound quality is great for our country. Video playback is excellent. They can surround (even though I my tripod), is Blu-Ray for my table in perfect fun, colorful parts, where calibrated charm and reconstruction in less than 30 minutes to the microphone to audio calibration system. I have a large living room, but the system is as strong as I ever need only half the maximum volume! I have not really tested the DVD player, so I can not comment on the quality of the video upconverting yet.

PROS:

- Plenty of volume and bass, while maintaining the high mids and a good balance.
- Greater clarity of the overall sound, and surround speakers add plenty of volume behind you.
- Loved the auto calibrate using the microphone included — takes the guess work out of tweaking levels of each speaker.
- General aspect of the system: the receiver / DVD player is small enough for a receiver (although a bit ‘in depth, to measure the mobile TV where there is mass), and none of the speakers are loud or look large.
- “Night Mode” is a great feature for when you want to calm down some of whatever you’re looking, without losing the high (as the voice in a movie).
- Price range is great for those who want great sound without breaking the bank.

CONS:

- Absence of audio / video inputs. If you have a device, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and others, you need an input selector. Here’s a suggestion, find a photo of the rear of this unit, so you know exactly what you’re getting input.
- Lack of ability to transform the sub woofer up and down manually.
- Specialty cables speaker connectors (this was not a problem for me, but if you need extra long speaker wire everywhere, you need to do some extensions.) Read more reviews

Just bought this Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX589W home theater system (HTS) to complete my recently purchased 46KDLW5100 Sony Bravia LCD TV Sony Bravia and my BDP-360 Blu-Ray. All I can say is WOW! This was the first time I’ve ever purchased / owner of a HTS and I’m blown away. Set-up was easy (if you can follow simple instructions), the sound is incredible, wonderful and the overall system. Since I already had a Blu-ray player connected to your TV via HDMI cable from player to TV, I decided to run a digital optical cable from the HTS receiver to TV, to get the sound when watching Blu-Ray. It works perfectly and the cable was only $ 7 or so. * Note * You will need more chances to enter the audio settings menu on your Blu-Ray / TV to adjust a setting or two to make sure that the sound is passing at full volume I had to go into audio settings on my player Blu-Ray BD and switch the audio to “direct” in order to get the full sound that goes speakers.
